Woman Charged with Aggravated Manslaughter – Crash Killed Mother & Infant

MAYS LANDING- Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced Nancy Cavanaugh, 66, of Egg Harbor Township was charged with two counts of Aggravated Manslaughter in connection with a fatal motor vehicle collision occurring on February 26, 2019. The incident occurred on English Creek Avenue in Egg Harbor Township

The investigation revealed that the vehicle being driven by Cavanaugh left its lane and collided head-on with another vehicle. The second vehicle was occupied by Alisha Williams, 31, of Somers Point and her 10-month-old son. Both were killed in the crash. Authorities concluded that Cavanaugh was under the influence of alcohol and alprazolam when she left her lane and collided with the other vehicle.

This investigation is a cooperative effort between the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit and the Egg Harbor Township Police Department
